- Step by step facilitation that makes group music making fun and meaningful.
- Playing together with different rules - opening doors to each other...collective music making
- Sound conversations!
Are you looking to engage more fully with your artistry? Whether your voice is with music, movement or word - this three day retreat will support your artistry wherever it is. Whether it's jigs and reels, songs, moving, stories and tellings or a mix of it all, this is a chance to expand and explore your own playing and find inspiration with compatible modes of expression. The input depends on what participants need....technique, repertoire, improvisation support. Mairi encourages you to find your roots and freedom!
We will work with material that you bring - creating soundscapes using tunes, songs, poetry, movement and story.
"I went places with word, music and song where I have never gone before and wonder where to next. All of this due to your vision, sensitivity, hospitality and musical integrity, not always an easy path. Thank you"
C Menzies, Nov 2012
All instruments and voices welcome.
Mairi's awards include 'Scots Singer of the Year', 'Tutor of the Year' and 'Female Musician of the year' ( Scots Trad music awards) ( Liveireland)
